More of Our Pics 2018-2019
Bridlington
Here are some more pics from our life and travels together. Bridlington is an old Victorian resort town on the Yorkshire Coast, with a quaint harbor and beautiful golden sands. It nestles in a bay skirted by Flamborough Head. It was in that very bay where John Paul Jones, founder of the US Navy, lost his ship in a fierce sea-battle, and uttered what are perhaps his most famous words, the rallying cry “I have not yet begun to Fight!”.

Beverley Minster
The ancient Beverley Minster held a special place in the hearts of Robin and I. Back in 2004, we went to a Christmas service there and her beautiful singing drew the attention of many among the congregation. It was Christmas Eve, and I remember us stepping out into the cold, dark night when the last prayers had been said, thinking what an amazing person whose hand was in mine.

Town & Other Places
One Saturday, as Robin and I did our ritual trip to the Market, we came across a troupe of Medieval Morris Dancers entertaining in the town. Later that afternoon, we stopped for a drink in “The White Pony” pub, an old coaching inn that dates back to the 16th Century. The place is still lit by gas-lights, and to enter is really like a trip back through time. So, over glasses of our favorite dark rum (The drink of Pirates and Highwaymen), we discused our past and future, the dreams yet to come.
